September’s Halpern Spotlight: Ashley Watson!

The Halpern Spotlight highlights a Halpern Law Firm employee each month. This month’s Halpern Spotlight is on our Assistant Accounting Manager, Ashley Watson!

About Ashley Watson

Ashley Watson is from Bristol, Connecticut. She played D2 lacrosse at Chestnut Hill College while obtaining her bachelor’s degree in accounting. In her free time, she likes to build Legos, learn new craft skills, and take walks outside. Ashley has been part of the Halpern team since July 2023. In her current position, she works on settlement distributions to clients, lien tracking, and communicating with clients about what liens they may owe based on their insurance.

Ashley Watson’s Experience

Ashley’s accounting experience began in 2020 when she “worked at an accounting firm in [her] hometown doing bookkeeping and preparing corporate and individual tax returns.” She continues, saying, “during my senior year of college in the spring semester, I worked at Canon Capital Management in the accounting department where I prepared individual tax returns.”

At Halpern, Ashley sends the settlement money to the clients: “Once Dave or another attorney makes the settlement, they let the client know about the waiting period. Within this period, the client signs and sends in a release. Once we receive the signed release and the compensation from the settlement, I notify the client of the check coming their way.”

“I feel like I am in the luckiest position at the firm!”

When asked about what it means to bring compensation to mesothelioma and asbestos-case victims, Ashley says, “I feel like I am in the luckiest position at the firm! It is so nice to hear how these funds are going to impact their life and their families. I cannot even begin to tell you the number of times a client has let me know how much the settlement money is going to help them and their families.” It is apparent that Ashley cares about clients and is passionate about getting them the compensation they deserve to take care of themselves and their loved ones. She closes by adding, “although it is unfortunate that the clients deal with the struggle of their asbestos-related disease, it is nice to know that their deserved compensation is making a positive impact on their lives.”

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with mesothelioma or another asbestos-related disease, you may be eligible for compensation. The legal process for filing a claim is complicated, so it is important to choose an expert law firm. The experienced staff at the Halpern Law Firm will help you through every step of the process: from filing a claim to finally receiving your settlement.
